Records
Retention
Records retention guidelines fall in to two main categories, firstly, legal, where the federal or local government states that records of a particular type must be retained and be able to be produced for a specific period, after this they can be confidentially destroyed.
The second category is where documents will be kept for business reasons, such as medical records, architects plans and such like. These records, although may have a legal reason for being kept, are generally there to protect a business and either justify or back up a company or individuals actions and a historical record of the business itself.
Whatever the reason, NationalVault has sophisticated records and information management software that allows us to provide tailor made solutions to our clients records retention needs.
Our software can be programmed with specific retention codes that can apply to an individual document, to a series of boxes or to a selection of media. All this means that records will be kept for the optimum time and become a true partner with our clients records management teams.
These features allow a more true information management policy to be put into place in our clients businesses without the need for them to purchase specific software or set out unknown retention guidelines.
Ultimately, each of our clients has the final say in their policy and their retention dates, however with the support of NationalVault and its knowledge management techniques, Document Retention policy and scheduling can become an integral part of our customers business.
